Hey everybody, I just read on the CrossFit Games website that they are having tons of problems with the Games website, from registering to approving, to joining team. Because of this, they are extending the deadline to allow everybody more time to register, join the right team, submit your score, and EVEN PERFORM THE WOD!!!

Here is the link: http://games.crossfit.com/features/deadline-extension-week-1

So for those of you who still need to register and such, here is how to do it:

1- Go to games.crossfit.com
2- Click on the “Register” button at the top in the middle of the main home page.
3- Fill in all your personal information and you will be require to pay $10. This $10 will cover you for all 6 of the WOD over the next 6 weeks.
4- Once you have registered and have you profile set up, go to your profile page and click on the “Join a Team” button on the left bottom of your profile page.
5- The Viking Team is already set up. When you click to join the team, it will ask you to search for your team. Just type in Viking and search. It will pull up the gym and you just need to click on the join button.
6- One of the owners will need to go in and approve you, BUT you can still post your results from WOD #1.
7- To post your results, you once again need to go to your profile page on the Games site and find the button kind of in the center of your profile page.
8- It will then have you do the following: With a drop down, you will be asked if you did the WOD by yourself or at an affiliate; click on At an Affiliate and click next. You will then have to type the name of the affiliate; just start typing Viking and it should auto-fill with Viking CrossFit. You will then need to post your round and partial rounds (e.g. how many double-unders and power snatched you did if you didn’t do a full round). You will then be asked if you scaled the WOD; DO NOT CHECK THIS!!! If you do, you will be disqualified from the rest of the competition.
9- Once you have that in, save it. When that is done, I or one of the owners will go in and approve you on the team and certify your score. You will receive a confirmation email for both being added to the team and when your score is certified. Please let us know if you haven’t received one or both of those emails after 48 hours of posting your scores.

Please make sure you post any questions you have on the blog that way we can answer them for everybody to see. If you need specific help you can call or text one of the owner or me (my number is 801-787-6035).

  1. I just posted the CrossFit Sectional WOD we did today on BeyondtheWhiteboard.com so that you can post your results there too.

I can’t get my result to go in. Is it me or the website?

  3. Jeanie

I was wondering if anyone would be interested in doing the Sectional WOD on Wednesday in addition to Saturday. I for one would like to do a practice run before I do it for a result. This would also give those that want to do the WOD but not be in the Sectionals competition a chance to do it as well.

  4. @Heather – Without see what you are doing, I don’t know whether it is you or the website, but they did saying they are having problems with the website. The things to remembers are that you have to put in the full rounds and the how many double-unders and power snatches you did on any partial rounds. You also have to make sure that you are posting the results under Viking CrossFit affiliate. If you are still having problems, if you are ok with it you can email me your user email log on and password and I can take a look at it. I am seeing that you are posting but you are right, it keeps giving you a zero score.

@Emily – Hey Emily, can you go in again and resubmit your score and make sure you put that you did it at an affiliate and that you identify that affiliate as Viking? I think it is saying that you did it, but it is saying that you didn’t identify an affiliate.

  6. Vance

Wade, Yes I will try again. I submitted it under Viking and I didn’t know it wasn’t showing that so thanks for the heads up. Let me know if it post for Viking I’m not sure I am doing it right.

  7. Vance

Oh and Jeanie we were thinking the same thing. I would love to be able to do it more than once to get a feel for the WOD and be able to do our best.

Isn’t it all about training for the unexpected? Personally I don’t like the way that HQ is allowing competitors the chance to resubmit multiple scores for a WOD. I think it takes away from the overall idea of CF, preparing for the unexpected. There’s plenty of time to practice the movements once the WOD is posted if a person would like. I think that’s cool but only one chance should be allowed to submit a score. If you do awesome, good for you, if not so awesome, better luck next time. I’m sure this won’t be a popular theory but it’s just what I think.
