Come run Cooper’s run today at 0900. It’s a run/walk 5k or a kids run around the block.  Orem police and fire will be there too with their cool cars and trucks.   If you can’t make it to the run…..Run or walk 2-3 miles today for your wod.

We are also doing a Swim technique class today at 4:30pm for anyone interested at Ori and Monica’s house. It will be at 4:30 at 215 S 760 W in Orem. You can park by the Tennis courts at the Orem Rec, and walk through a gate into his back yard. This is kind of a shotgun swim class, sorry for the short notice, but come if you can. We can also do more if anyone misses and really wants to get some swim help. Call Cody at 801-362-8986 if you have any questions. Bring a swimsuit and goggles if you have them. Water wings if you need them. :)

Jessica…to answer your question from yesterday, I don’t think you should do the Dirty Dash 6 months pregnant. There is too much crawling and moving over and under objects where it just wouldn’t be safe. Next year for sure! :)

  3. Wade

The Dirty Dash is going to be sweet!

On another note, props to Cody and his test run on the CrossFit kids today. My kids had a blast and the funniest thing happened after we were leaving the parking VCF parking lot. As I pulled out after the test class with 2 of my kids I looked in my rear view mirror at my 7 year old son and noticed he was flexing his bicep. Just as I saw him he looks at me and says (and I quote), “I feel stronger already”. Then followong his lead, his 4 year old sister that was there too said (and I quote again), “I feel stronger than I was yesterday”.

I was laughing so hard I almost had to pull over. Thanks again Cody and I and my kids can’t wait for it to be up and running.

That was a cute story Wade!

Hey, It looks like the registration is back up, but we need names for the teams. Will you send us the names for the teams. Or you can blog what you want your team name to be.

    • Vance

Jason I can’t think of a name for our team. Just make one up, we trust ya…enough.

  6. Wade

Hope you all had fun at the run. I had promised my nephew I’d help him with his Eagle Project so Jenny and I weren’t able to do it. So what names did you come up with for our teams? I am terrible at thinking up names.

Cooper’s Run was awesome and it was fun to see so many people out in support of it. The run was pretty painful as my legs were pretty trashed from some of the WOD’s this week. When the twiggy, skinny girls kept flying past me I wanted to yell “I bet you can’t deadlift 230 missy!!!”. Of course, I was out of breath so all that would have come out was “Ibeyntdfonmoomehaend!” I actually had a guy come up to me afterward and tell me that he was wondering how I was such a fast runner (haha) then he realized I was a CrossFitter and knew that must be the reason. That speaks to the awesomeness of CrossFit. Thanks VCF, I like being able to run without actually having to run!

  8. Heather

I think our team decided on the “Viking Crossfit Crusaders”

  9. Mandy :)

I just wanted to say that since I have been coming to Vikings for over two years now. I think this week was one of my favorite week of WODs. I am so looking forward to what u come up with this week. I am sore, yet not painfully sore. It feels oh soooo good.
Wills team name is Team Makoa which means Fearless Warriors. And The team I am on is called Viking Crossfit Warrior Princesses. So excited about this Dirty Dash.

Great job today at Cooper’s Run everyone! It was so fun to watch you all, you all did amazing. I’m loving the team names so far. I will post the teams and team captains at the gym next week and the team captain’s can talk with their team and come up with a name.
Loved your story Wade. And Jeanie you make me laugh!

  11. DaveS

I’m glad to be able to join you for the Dirty Dash. I’m thinking this will be a hoot to see what’s thrown at us. Bring on the mud and the unknown. :)
