Soooooo, are we or are we not doing a zone challenge starting tomorrow?? Fill us in!
I am starting the zone challene tomorrow. I have been slacking the last few weeks, so I am excited to get going again. Still got those last 10 pounds to lose. I hope we can get alot of us to do it this time, and stick with it. You will truly see improvement quickly while eating the zone.
I’m set to start Tuesday. Because of work, I haven’t been able to go grocery shopping, but I have all of the menu planning done for the first week. Now all I have to do is show up, right? Oh. And cook. CRAP.
Hey Everybody, the owners are extremely busy and really want this Zone Challenge to be a success so they have asked me to head it up.
I did some research on how other affiliates have conducted theirs and came up with these rules.
RULES
1- You must weigh in on the Viking CrossFit scale on either Monday or Tuesday of this week. If you absolutely can’t weigh in on one of those days, then please let me know when you can.
2- There will be a notebook in the Trainer’s Drawer of the filing cabinet where the trainer that takes your weight will write down your start and subsequent weights. Please only allow the trainer to look at and record your weights in this folder.
3- Each week you must weigh in, preferably on Monday or Tuesday. When you have weighed in, you must post your weight differential on that day’s blog. Meaning, don’t put your weight, just how much you lost or gained (hopefully not the case).
4- Each day, you must post your food log for that day by posting a link to your own personal blog, linking to Google Docs, or you can post your food log to the actual Viking blog for that day (least preferred). Posting a link is better to avoid clogging up the blog with huge food logs from everybody.
5- There will be a final weigh in on November 24th, 2010. We will do the weigh in at the end of the day after the last class and post the results.
Winner will be determined by highest percentage of weight lost.
6- There will be a $10 buy in. Please have this paid to a trainer by the end of this week. The trainer will note on your page that you have paid and when everybody that is competing has paid the owners will hold that money until the end of the challenge. The winner will get the pot of money at the end as the prize for highest percentage of weight lost.
These rules are not set in stone until close of business Tuesday so if anybody has suggestions or such on them please email me at wlolsen@gmail.com and I will get with the owners. Once Tuesday night comes the rules are set.
I think this will be awesome and you will all have great success if you stick to it.
Please don’t hesitate to email me questions, suggestions, or comments to my email address.
Good luck everybody!
Additional Zone Challenge Info:
It is recommended that you take a before and after picture. You don’t have to show these to anybody, but help will help you see the improvement you make if you work hard at eating right.
If you want to do the challenge but don’t want to do the buy in, you are still more than welcome to weigh in and post results, but will not be eligible for the prize money at the end.
I will be conducting a Zone Class on Wednesday, October 27th if we have enough people who want or need info on the Zone. I will also be posting helps, info, references and additional info to the blog to help throughout the month of the challenge.
We have been trying to do the zone this past week, & it’s working!!! What time on Wednesday is the class?
Anne – please share some of the menu plans! That is the worst for me! Also, I’ve noticed recipes posted before. Please, ANYONE share zone-friendly recipe!
Thanks!
Hey Nancy, if we have enough people interested, I will do the Zone Class after the regular classes on Wednesday, October 27th at 7:30pm. I won’t go into any huge details and it would beginner level class for those who don’t know anything about the Zone. I would like to keep it under 45 minutes long.
If you want and can attend the Zone class, please post on the blog today and tomorrow.
Also, don’t foget to weigh in today or tomorrow if you are doing the Zone Challenge. If you want to compete for the prize money, pleae get bring in your $10 before next week’s weigh in.
Trainers, I dropped the binder off this morning so people can start getting the starting weight. It is a small white 3-ring binder. Just fill out the form and leave it in the binder.
If you have any questions you can call/text me at 801-787-6035 or email me at wlolsen@gmail.com.
