Everyone finds a wod that seems to just destroy them.  It breaks you down mentally, physically and/or emotionally.  You just can’t seem to get through it or you let it get to your head and think that you can’t do it.  Well, here is Jenn’s wod and she is ready to conquer it this time.

AH GEEZ! I had dreams about doing this wod last night!! I woke up sweating! Hopefully the only tears anyone will see on me tomorrow will be tears of joy for finally conquering this beast!!

By the way, good job to everyone who ran Saturday! I had a pretty busy Friday and Saturday otherwise I would have been there to cheer you all on.

This will kill me but I’m excited to try!!

  9. Jason

Will, each mat in t he gym is 6 feet long so about two meters each.

  10. Natalie

    18 minute time cap everyone

  11. Holly

    Holy crap! Let’s do this!

  12. Jeanie

    Booyah! BRING IT ON!

  13. Wade

I don’t know what my problem was this morning, but this workout beat me up, spit on my and left me for dead. I didn’t even make the time cut off. I can’t believe it. After Jenn smokes this WOD you’re going to have to change the name to “Wade’s Revenge”.

I was embarassed to even write my time on the board and then I get back and see that Natalie had wrote there is a 18 minute time limit on it and now I feel like a bigger wuss.

    How enbarassing?!?!

  14. Will

Strong work this morning by everybody. Thanks to Vance for waiting until the very end so I wouldn’t have to do the wod by myself. Thanks to Jeff and Amanda for verbally abusing me every time I wanted to slow down or take long breaks. It all makes a big difference in the effort you put out. That’s part of what makes the atmosphere at the gym so cool.

So on a different note, everybody has days that they don’t perform as well as they wanted to. There can be a lot of things that factor into it. Stress, lack of sleep, lack of mental preparedness, bad eating habits the last couple days and on and on. I’ve gone in on certain days thinking I was gonna kill the wod just to have the opposite happen. On the other hand some of the best days I’ve had performance wise were days I was tired, worn out and had a hard time getting ready mentally, yet I pull off PR’s. Sometimes there isn’t any rhyme or reason it just works out or it doesn’t. On those days that it doesn’t just remember a couple things. You just did a work out that alot of people couldn’t even finish and that includes people who exercise on a regular basis. You started going to the gym because you realized the benefits of Crossfit but I would be willing to bet that part of the reason you stay is that you have fun doing it. So don’t let the bad days get to you, everybody has them.

  15. Amanda

    Thanks Will.

  16. Jason

Based off of Will’s comment, my guess is that most everyone had a hard time this morning. Remember this WOD was a CrossFit winter games WOD. So don’t get discouraged. Just keep going and don’t quit.

  17. Anne

I worked at the hospital last night, and will return there tonight. I’m sad I’m not going to be able to make it in. You guys are all awesome!

  18. Big J

I didn’t know there was a time cap until after the workout. I was pushing myself, but if I would have know I would have dug into my depths and done it. I almost made it. Awesome workout. Lets do it again tomorrow!

  19. Jenn

Well, today sucked just as badly as I remember. I actually added about a minute and a half to my last time. And I’m pretty sure I cheated on the lunges. I didn’t quite understand the
concept and ended up lunging the length of 6 mats rather than 6 lengths back and forth. However, I feel like I made up for it with the box jumps; I used the 26″ box. That’s almost half my height! I didn’t cry, however I did get a little emotional afterwards because I was so mentally and physically drained. I definitely didn’t conquer my demon today. Next time…

  20. Jenn

By the way, everyone else did so great today! It was awesome to see everyone pushing so hard!!

  21. Amanda

Jenn, I did the length of 6 mats as well (times five and a half)! It’s awesome that you did the 26″ box. I also got emotional afterwards. Physically I felt okay, but that one was mentally tough.

As if today’s wod wasn’t tough enough, Clark and I took the kids to the pool and took turns doing laps to get ready for the triathlon. I did 24 lengths of a 25 yd pool. Clark did 25. (I like even numbers, and what can I say, he’s odd.) I signed us both up today for the full race. I’m nervous, but the goal is to finish and I know I can do that.

On another note, I signed up for the Crossfit Kids Cert today. Yeah!!!

  22. Jeanie

Wow, I had to embrace the suck in a whole new way to get through that one. That was a great WOD!

Great comments Will. I know I have had plenty of those days and it seems the bad ones always outnumber the good ones. Great job everyone.

  23. Wade

There was some great performances this afternoon. Holly, Elias, and Lee did an awesome job!

  24. Will

I am still trying to recover from this workout. I added several minutes on my time. grrrrrrrrr But everyone rocked it tonight. You ladies and gentlemen(John) are my idols. Thanks trainers and thanks Jeanie for running behind me and pushing me on that last run.

  25. Will

ooops that was from me Mandy. I guess Wills info is on here. lol

  26. Holly

I seriously wanted to quit at the beginning, middle, and end. I didn’t because of everyone cheering me on. I think I need to start upping the weight.
